The Parlour of Deception - February 2014
Magicians Leon Simmonds and Simon Ambrose take you back in time to the secret parlours of the Victorian spiritualists and mediums. Revealing some of the methods these charlatans used and weaving in their own very modern take on mind-reading and psychic phenomena, the show is guaranteed to be as thought-provoking as it is astonishing
For a one-off performance for the Brighton Science Festival, I teamed up with my regular co-magician Leon Simmonds to performing some of the cheats and scams used by the Victorian mediums and spiritualists, along with some modern takes on their trickery.

Charlatan - May 2011Simon's 2011 show entitled Charlatan was Simon's first one man show, and looked at how the techniques and sleight of hand used by magicians could be used to con the unwary out of their money.
From medieval jongleurs to modern-day psychics, Charlatan was one part history lesson, one part magic show, with a generous helping of cautionary tales. Charlatan was premiered as part of the Brighton Festival Fringe, with repeat performances as other venues around Sussex. |
Brighton Science Festival February 2012February 2012 saw the Smoke and Mirrors performers (Simon, Dan and Leon) reunited after 2 years for the Brighton Science Festival 2012. The team put on two events, the first aimed at young people (aged 8-14) and looked to demonstrate the relationship between magic, science and maths. The team then went on to perform for the grown ups in the evening with a mixture of close-up magic, stage illusions, mind-reading effects and some zany experiments from our resident host Dr A Narchy.

Smoke and Mirrors - August 2009
Smoke and Mirrors was a collaborative project between Simon and fellow magician Leon Simmonds and Dan Edwards in 2009. The trio performed three shows in Eastbourne, Worthing and Brighton to packed out crowds demonstrating their abilities of mind-reading, sleight of hand and predicting the future. The Smoke and Mirrors project was wound up at the end of the 2009 run, due to the performers moving away from Brighton. The three performers were re-united in 2012 for a one of special show as part of the Brighton Science festival
